I have a sick little girl at home today. Every time she gets a cold, she gets a fever. So she stayed at home with Mommy today. We were goofing around with her hair clip and this is the result!

My Mom gave me these reindeer for Christmas two years ago as she didn't have a place for them when they were not on display. They have been above my front entry closet ever since. I have plans to change the ribbon seasonally - maybe this year it will happen!

Day Nineteen

We had cousins over to play today. Bryn and Rhiannon play so nicely together! They cooked me all sorts of yummy things. I peeked at their kitchen and found Guillermo getting a tan! A few minutes later, I heard Bryn say, "Oh my babies are cold. I'll warm them up in the microwave." I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair!

Day Eighteen

I was playing with my camera on manual mode, something I don't do often enough. I wanted this to be a bit underexposed. I like the shadows that emphasize the details. This is a souvenir that my parents brought back from a trip they took to Nauvoo, Illinois. Nauvoo was the site of the second temple built by our church. This is a replica of the original "sunstones" found on the temple.

Day Seventeen

I wish I could have captured what I saw on my street today. You can't quite see, but all the cars are plugged in. It was -30C at the time. It was also the day that my furnace quit! I'm so grateful for a handy and nearby Dad!

Day Sixteen

It has been about -30C all week here in Calgary! I can't say I love the cold but it does make for some pretty pictures sometimes. This is my storm door. The kids like to scratch off the frost in the mornings. Then it grows back...

Day Fifteen

Rhiannon is getting really good at going down the stairs by herself. I now can leave her at the top and know she won't fall down (probably!) She is happy to do it herself too!

Day Fourteen

This may turn into a Rhiannon blog! She is the cutest person in my life. She wanted to play going to school and was making funny faces, so a photo was required.

Day Thirteen

Today we ran into some friends at the mall and had such a good time with them that we stayed till suppertime! The other children found an interactive floor mat that held their attention but Rhiannon just wanted to push the double stroller. She did a great job, too! She only fell down once. Too bad she couldn't see where she was going...

Day Twelve

Go, Jack, go!! We went to visit Jack in the hospital the other day. He had no cords and was such a happy boy that we went for a walk, he with his walking toy and Rhiannon in her walker. After a while, Jack, being the cheeky boy he is, decided to show his older cousin how it was supposed to be done! Rhiannon didn't even notice - she stole his toy instead! We are so happy he is home with his family now. :)

This is Rhiannon doing her stretches. "I can do it myself!" Haha! I wish she could!

Day Ten

Rhiannon and her dog. This is how I found them this morning, all tucked in and sleeping the same way. So cute!

Day Nine

This photo has to do with my New Year's resolution. I am going to work on scrapbooks at least once a week. A nice bonus to this resolution is that my basement will get organized!

Day Eight

Rhiannon was eating some of her Christmas candy. She asked to eat the "triangle chocolate" and when given a chunk of it, she said "It looks like a crown, like this!" and put it on her head. Good thing I had the camera nearby!

Day Seven

My Granny collects elephants. Her collection is vast and varied. Recently she has decided that she may have too many and let some grandchildren take a favourite home. This has been my favourite as far back as I can remember. I remember playing with it when they live in University Heights when I was less than 8 years old. This was one that we could play with as it was not very breakable. The drawer opens and is lined with red velveteen.

Day Six

So, I knew this would happen eventually. This photo was taken at 11:58 from my ipad, which was the only camera in my bedroom, when I realized that I had not taken a photo today! The ipad does have some fun photo booth features.

Day Five

This ornament was made by my Grandma Wiebe many years ago. I have lots of sentimental ornaments on my tree. I took this photo just before we took the tree down.

Day Four

We went to zoolights tonight. It was a perfect night for it - good weather, great company. The kids had lots of fun running around and Rhiannon had fun riding in someone else's stroller. This photo was taken in the conservatory, on the butterfly side. At each side of the huge Christmas tree, were three hollow columns made from hanging crystal beads. Colour changing lights at the bottom of each column made a really pretty effect. I accidentally got an even prettier effect because of the condensation on my lens! I am quite pleased with this shot.

Rhiannon turned her playdoh into a guitar! Uncle Jared would be so proud!
